Who?

Duane was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He took up photography when he realized he couldn't draw very well. He loves talking about Batman, Jurassic Park, Seinfeld, Star Wars, sports and all kinds of films (both the photographic medium as well as the moving of images shown on a screen).

Duane is very diligent, hard-working and passionate when it comes to his photography. He's just as comfortable shooting on location as he is in a studio. His photographs touch on the intersections of sports, race, politics, gender and pop culture. He has worked with and been published by the likes of Bell Media, Canadian Business, Canadian Stage, CBC, The Globe and Mail, The National Film Board of Canada, Report on Business, Sportsnet, Toronto Life, the University of Toronto, The Washington Post, The Walrus and West End Phoenix. 

Stylistic simplicity and pursuing honest connections with his subjects are key to creating his portraits.
